2012 has finally came and it’s making me feel motivated to take my online services and website to the next level. I have been working long and hard to come up with some solutions that I wish to accomplish in the year 2012 in terms of my online work and marketing. Thus brings me to announce TechJohnson 3.0.
The new year has approached us and that means it’s time for a new desk tour! I typically do an office tour but since the office is a mess with baby items, I decided to stick with just a desk tour for the time being. I hope you enjoy my desk setup. If you’re any bit human then you’ll be a typical person who HATES to pull their smartphone out of your pocket just to check that new email only to find out that it wasn’t worth the effort. How awesome would it be if we could have a watch to tell us who’s calling, texting and emailing our smartphone? With Casio’s upcoming G-SHOCK watch, this won’t be a problem. In fact, this smart watch will be able to do much more than tell us who’s calling, texting and emailing.
This year in mobile technology was a revolutionary change. Many new phones were released that had applications that were available for downloading and purchasing. I give you my top 5 applications for the iOS device that I feel topped them all in the year 2011.

With the year 2011 coming to a close in under 24 hours, many seem to reflect on the past year. The one thing everyone asks themselves is, “What can I do better in the new year?” This question has started up something called New Years Resolutions and I’m going to share a few of mine with you. These will all be goals that I wish to accomplish within the year and possibly things that will last a life time. I hope you have your reading glasses on!
The Snowball USB Microphone is a great microphone to purchase for a step up microphone from an internal microphone. Believe it or not, this has amazing audio quality and some may even say it sounds professional. The Snowball performs exceptionally well for recording acoustic instruments. If you’re looking to purchase this microphone for voice overs or podcasts, it will treat you perfectly well but I would recommend other microphones for the job. How many of you would believe me if I said that Apple plans on releasing the new iPhone 5 with a metal backing? Of course, this would be a rumor that has hit the surface once before so many people will probably just brush right over this posting. According to a closed source (which we will call Joe Bobaloo), Joe Bobaloo posted a list of new features which includes the new metal backing to an updated iPhone 5 which is due to release next Fall.
I have a huge announcement to make today and no, I didn’t win the lottery. As awesome as that would be, I think this announcement is much greater. Imagine getting the most amazing present in the world, now times that by 10 or even 100. That’s how amazing this is. As many of you may have known, my girlfriend has been pregnant for the last 9 months (obviously). After a long stretch of pains, aches, attitude, and of course labor, my baby boy has been born on Christmas at a healthy 7lbs 15oz. We have named him Zachary Tyler Johnson

Earlier this month, we noted that developer builds of OS X 10.7.3 were showing evidence of AMD’s forthcoming “Tahiti” graphics card family, the first to be built using 28-nanometer technology. The evidence suggested that Apple was at least preparing for the possibility of the cards being used in a Mac Pro update next year, an update that is reportedly still in question given uncertainty about the future of the line.
Of course I’m going to have to show off the quality of the Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS. This video demonstrates the HD quality with all videos being shot at an inside environment. I added no color correction of any sorts. Video was rendered with 1080p-25fps to try and stay with the original camera settings.
Look at the calendar, did you realize that Christmas is in just 4 days! I hope I didn’t leave you scrambling to go Christmas shopping for loved ones. If you plan on buying gifts from Apple’s online store, you may want to buy them tonight and not wait until tomorrow. Apple has upgraded its holiday shipping offer to provide free next-day shipping on almost all of its hottest items. In order for this to work, you’ll have to order no later than today to ensure you will receive your purchases on Christmas Eve.
The Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS has been on my purchase list for the past several months. After finally receiving the Canon as a gift from my mother, I was expecting some great results in terms of video quality and photo quality. After having a full day to toy around with the popular device, I’m quite pleased with my new expectations. Believe it or not, my previous expectations were set pretty high and the device blew away what I thought they would be. The Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS is an amazing device and I recommend it to everyone. Expect a full, in depth review in the future.
