Razor VS Electric Razor

I have come to realization, that every guy will have to come across shaving at least once in their life time. It’s apart of growing up and becoming a man. Many men around the world like to use the natural hand razor with shaving cream while many other men like to use an electric razor. This blog post is going to be my views on each of the razors and I’m going to tell you which one I would prefer.

Electric Razors:

Many guys love using the electric razor, but why? Well, it’s a fast solution if you keep one in your car and shave on the way to work in the morning. You don’t need to get your face wet and you don’t have to put on shaving cream. You just turn the razor on and away you go.

Standard Razors:

Many of the guys that use the electric razor also love to use the standard hand held razor, but why? Most will say it gives you a closer shave and stays smooth longer this way.

My Opinion:

I have shaved numerous amounts of times during my lifespan of 18 years and going. I learned how to originally shave with a hand held razor with the shaving cream. I loved doing it that way, it always made me feel more grown up then I really was, until I got my first cut! Man, I was a wimp, it wouldn’t stop bleeding and it felt like an oversized paper cut. After that, I begged for my parents to purchase me an electric razor, in hopes to eliminate the cutting problem that I had. Finally, I received my electric razor. I loved it, it was awesome, well, for the first day. The next morning I was using it and it brought so much pain. It was pulling my hair and made my skin irritate. Not only that, it took forever to get a close, clean, and smooth shave. I resorted back to shaving with a hand held razor. Yes, I know, you need to actually put stuff on your face, but in my opinion, it’s faster to shave that way and you get a closer shave. Not only that, it doesn’t irritate my skin. So, if I was to suggest a razor, I would be suggesting a hand held razor over the electric razor. I hope everyone was able to follow this post, my thoughts were jumping all over the place.

I agree, if you go against it, the pain is, well, painful!

I agree, the razor and shaving cream is the way to go. Keep in mind for the best / closest shave you can get. Heat your face with warm water to soften the hair. Lather the cream up on your face to get the hairs standing up straight. Then hold the razor at a 90 degree angle to your face and only shave with the grain of the hair. If you go against the grain you will get razor burn, and that is very painful.

    Great Post TechJ. Oh Yeah!
